Bio – Jennifer Vigna
Jennifer Vigna, originally from Long Island, NY, relocated to Bloomfield in 1993. Jennifer graduated from Garden City High School in 1985, and Providence College (B.S. Finance) in 1989. She worked at European American Bank, both on Long Island and NYC, until starting her family. She has been deeply involved in volunteering for the Home and School Associations of Brookdale Elementary, BMS and BHS, and is a long-standing member of Bloomfield Kiwanis Club and the BEF.
“Since our oldest child started kindergarten in 2000, my husband Tom and I have raised our three children, Tom (’13), Ryan (’16) and Caroline (’20) as proud “Bloomfield Bengals”. It has been a labor of love being so involved with my children’s schools, athletics, and ultimately, our Bloomfield community. Now, working with the BEF provides me the transition to continue that work long after my kids have graduated. We are developing relationships with community leaders, businesses, administrators, teachers, parents and students, all for that single minded goal of improving students’ academic lives. It is really an honor to see something like a free AP test, or a college scholarship give a student the confidence and resources they need to succeed.
Likewise, knowing that the BEF is providing teachers with grants they can use to go above and beyond in their classrooms, also enriches our school district. The BEF continues to work to give all our schools, teachers and students the support they need. On a personal note, it’s so fulfilling to see kids thrive and hopefully pay it forward someday. I encourage everyone to do their part to help us uplift our students and our Bloomfield community.”
